Mz. Frances M. Smith of Str8t Dynamite Productions is a native Washingtonian. In her early years, Frances was introduced to music and her "first love" was found. During her high school years, Frances grew to love business. She found out she had a natural business acumen. Since those early years, Mz. Smith has continued to combine her two gifts - music and business. She has coordinated several weddings, worked as a publicist/administrative assistant/program planner for various organizations at the Fifteenth Street Presbyterian Church. She has also held a similar post for the D.C. Youth Ensemble, Inc. and the EBL Dance Theatre (under the direction of the late local choreographer, Mr. Earl B. Lucas, Jr.). In 1994, she was the administrative assistant for the Black Pride weekend festival that is held during the Memorial Day weekend in Washington, DC. She has also continued to sing with the Fifteenth Street Presbyterian Church Gospel Choir as well as the National African American AIDS choir, "SING" (accapella group). |
