Comment: 6.10.2002 I celebrated a milestone birthday at The Islander earlier this year. The Green family helped make it all the more special. They are now part of my extended family. The Islander offers: Great Food Family-Friendly Atmosphere and GREAT ENTERTAINMENT !!! I am blessed to know this beautiful family to have the opportunity to perform at this establishment. Comment: The tower is pretty cool. It's a lot like the lisner in DC, with the seats stuck in there like some kind of opera house. It's a smaller venue, but there's a train/bus depot right across 69th street from this place.

Comment: The Tweeter has had many names, but it's still the best place around to see a show. It's a huge outdoor arena, kind of like the Merriweather, but with a lot more bathrooms. There is a reserved section and a lawn section. Taping is usually only on the lawn, unless you have to sneak it (stealth mode). Anyway, the best part about the Tweeter is getting there. I always park at this little garage right on Penn's Landing and take the "River Connection" ferryboat across the Delaware River. It's really cool. A round trip pass is only $5 and you get a nice open-air ride, and you can walk directly to the venue, or go to the parking lots and party. There's always a ton of traffic on the bridge, so the ferry's a great way to go. I think the garage costs about $10 or so. There's always at least on ferry departing about 15 minutes after every show, so you'll have to hustle to make it, but it's really worth the extra cash for the reduction in stress.
