Comment: The Bar Nun has a great Friday evening line-up. They have live Jazz featuring the Vic Chase Project from 7-11 p.m. and then DJ's on two levels from 11 until... The only problem with the Bar Nun is that they lack promotions and they do not have food available during the "happy hours." I believe this is the reason that people don't fill the club until after 9 -- they are in search of dinner or a spot where there are free snacks...

Comment: If you can't fly the Carribbeean but need the feel, sound and ambiance, the Islander, located in the heart of the new DC "U" Street hub, has food and music that brings the Carribbean experience to your palate and to your ears. The service is always friendly and homey. The food is a Carribbean feast and enough to fill you. And, on Sundays, the Islander features live jazz from 7 to 11. Performers are some of the finest local jazz artists in the DC area. If you want to hear why DC is really a jazz city whose homegrown artists can "blow" with any national or international artists, check them out at the Islander.
