Name: Silver Shadows Establishment: Club City: Columbia State: MD Comment: Silver Shadows is a great place to hear live music as well as get your groove on. They have jazz brunches on Sundays, so you can mellow out after cuttin' the rug on Saturday night!! Ya'll don't feel me!! Submitted On: March 15, 2002
Name: snug harbor Establishment: Club City: new orleans State: LA Comment: Where on earth can you experience some of the best in Jazz and R&B, Snug Harbor off of Esplanade in the New Orleans in the French Quarter. Regulars include the likes of Ellis Marsalis, Alan Toussaint, Charmaine Nevelle and the list goes on and on every night in the city that care forgot. A must if you care to visit the Big Easy. Name: STATE Theatre Establishment: Club City: Falls Church State: VA Comment: Originally an Art Deco movie theatre, the State reopened as a live music venue, complete with dance floor, four bars, and an in-house restaurant. There's theatre-style seating in the balcony if you feel like relaxing and getting into the music. There's really not a bad place to see the show, although if you do need to sit, you should reserve a dinner table or get there early for a balcony seat-the tickets are all general admission, but it's 1/2 standing room only.
They have a great line-up of blues, bluegrass, jam-bands, rock, classic rock, alt-country, and even death-metal (well, just once). And they book local bands both as openers for nationals and for local showcase nights. www.thestatetheatre.com Submitted On: June 18, 2003
